Syria, Seleukis and Pieria. Apameia. Late 1st century B.C. Æ (17 mm, 5.47 g, 12 h). S.E. 277 (36/5 B.C.). Turreted and veiled bust of Tyche right / ΑΠΑΜΕΩΝ ΤΗΣ ΙΕΡΑ[Σ Κ]ΑΙ ΑΥΤΟΝΟΜ[ΟΥ], Athena standing facing, head left, holding Nike and spear, shield leaning at feet behind; in inner left field, date (ΖΟΣ). RPC 4363; HGC 9, 1435. Dark brown patina with sandy deposits. Attractive. Choice very fine.
